What is Bill C-27?
Bill C-27 is an Act to amend the long-standing Pension Benefits Standards Act. Those in favour of pure Defined Benefit (DB) pension plans (mainly federal employee unions) have criticized Bill C-27, saying it would allow federally regulated employers to replace DB plans, which provide a guaranteed retirement income for life, with Target Benefit Plans (TBPs), which don’t make such lavish, iron-clad promises but still provide great pensions.
What happens if it’s passed into law?
It would allow federally regulated private sector and Crown Corporation employers to offer a TBP to their employees, or to convert an existing DB pension plan into a TBP…
Student-Made Adidas Ad Will Make You Feel Something Real

In a student-made ad for Adidas uploaded on YouTube in December, the video tells the tale of a lonely elderly man who was once a happy marathon runner. Now living in a retirement home with closed doors, all this man wants to do is break free (in his Adidas shoes, naturally).
“We tried sending it to [Adidas’] communications department but they didn’t really react,” German student Eugen Merher of Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg told The Huffington Post.
Real or not, the story created by the 26-year-old is not only relatable, it’s so relatable it hurts.
