Increased welcome bonus for the CIBC Aerogold Visa Infinite card – up to 20,000 Aeroplan Miles + a $120 Air Canada Gift Card
– RewardsCanada.ca
It’s been sometime since we’ve seen CIBC come out with an offer outside their standard one for the CIBC Aerogold Visa Infinite card! The new offer for this card sees the welcome bonus miles boosted by 5,000 miles to 20,000 miles. That’s broken down into 15,000 miles upon first purchase and 5,000 more miles when you spend at least $1,000 on the card within 4 billing cycles. On top that, CIBC is also giving a $120 Air Canada eGift Card as an additional bonus on top of the miles. You could almost consider this eGift card as the annual fee waiver for the first year since it does equal the $120 you have to pay for this card. It’s nice to see CIBC finally come out with an offer on their Aerogold card however it still doesn’t match the current offer for the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite card that has no annual fee in the first year and a welcome bonus of 25,000 Aeroplan miles. Here are the Rewards Canada Top 5 Credit Card Sign Up offers for the month of July! This is not a ‘best’ credit card list like our Top Travel Rewards Credit Card rankings but instead a look at cards that have very good acquisition (sign up) offers. As always when choosing a card you should always take other factors into account other than the just sign up bonus, but when most or all of these cards are first year free, they can and do pay off even when you grab them strictly for the sign up rewards. This month we are sitting at 4 cards with no annual fees in the first year (or at all) and one card with an annual fee in the first year. This month sees only one change – the BMO Rewards Mastercard (No fee version) has been replaced with the TD First Class Visa Infinite Card since the latter’s welcome bonus (sans the 20,000 points after having it for a year) is worth $240 at a minimum versus the BMO’s ~$142. Also new this month is the order we list the cards, we now list the top 5 in order of value of the welcome bonus…
