Yet another boost for American Express cards. This time it’s for their AeroplanPlus cards. American Express let us know that “Both AeroplanPlus Platinum and AeroplanPlus Gold Cardmembers are eligible for the enhanced earn rates. AeroplanPlus Platinum Cardmembers can take advantage of a limited time enhanced earn rate of 1.5 Miles for every $1 in eligible purchases and AeroplanPlus Gold Cardmembers can enjoy 1.25 Miles for every $1 spent until August 31, 2020.”These are the some of the highest everyday earn rates for any cards in Canada that directly earn Aeroplan Miles (co-brand card) however it is still lower than The Platinum Card from American Express with its current double points on all purchases enhancement that sees it effectively earning 2 to 6 Aeroplan Miles per dollar spent until July 20. Nonetheless it is another great customer-centric move from American Express – they really have taken care of their cardmembers during this crisis. The fact that existing or new holders of AeroplanPlus cards will earn extra miles is awesome…A Guide to Canada’s Top Consolidation Loan Providers
– canadianfinanceblog.com
Whenever the topic of debt recovery comes up, a lot of attention is given to the more extreme options, such as consumer proposals and/or bankruptcy. While I have written about these topics in the past, I always preface these products as a last resort. After all, if you’re struggling to manage your debt, there are often better solutions that won’t negatively impact your credit rating. One of those is the consolidation loan.
What Is a Debt Consolidation Loan?
A consolidation loan is a term reducing loan taken out for the purpose of gathering a number of debts into one manageable payment. Ideally, the interest rate on a consolidation loan will be less that what you’re currently paying on your other unsecured credit products. Most often, the debts that are included in a consolidation loan are from high interest, revolving credit products such as major credit cards, retail store cards, or unsecured lines of credit.

Credit Card Perks: Extended Warranty and Purchase Protection
– ratesupermarket.ca

When you read up on the particulars of credit cards, you might notice the terms “extended warranty” and “purchase protection.” Sometimes referred to as extended protection, purchase security, or purchase assurance. Most glaze over these perks and focus on points or rewards associated with the credit card in question. However, extended warranties and purchase protection can come in handy and can save you money on big-ticket items.
Extended warranties operate alongside manufacturer warranties, and purchase protection provides assurance for theft and damage.
What is an extended warranty?
Often when you purchase a product, you will receive a complimentary manufacturer’s warranty. Extended warranties are available from your credit card provider to extend the manufacturer’s warranty, which provides the consumer with additional coverage. If you purchase a product that doesn’t have a manufacturer’s warranty, an extended warranty will not apply.
An extended warranty will only cover products purchased using your credit card…
New welcome offer for the National Bank of Canada World Elite Mastercard – $300 cash back with minimum spend
– RewardsCanada.ca
National Bank of Canada has released a new welcome bonus for the premier card in their portfolio – the NBC World Elite Mastercard. The provides new cardholders with the opportunity to earn up to $300 in cash back when you spend at least $6,500 on the card within the first four months of having it This bonus is over and above the regular points earn and other benefits that come with the card. To take advantage of this particular offer you must apply for the card by August 31, 2020.The NBC World Elite Mastercard is a this bank’s top card and it is a pretty good card overall. It doesn’t make it into the Top 5 of any of our categories in Canada’s Top Travel Rewards Credit Cards but it’s not that far out. I would definitely place it in the Top 10 of the Travel Points category in Canada. The reason for this is that the card normally doesn’t have a welcome bonus, so this limited time offer is a welcome bonus! Pun intended. It also a bit weak in the rewards department when you line this card up against comparable offerings from other banks…Find the best secured credit card in Canada

What is a secured credit card?
A secured card is a specific type of credit card that requires applicants to make a cash deposit in order to be approved. The experience of using a secured card for everyday purchases is mostly the same as a “regular” credit card, and the deposit requirement makes secured cards extremely attainable and a good option for people who want to build their credit with a credit card but don’t qualify for traditional unsecured credit cards because of bad credit or a lack of credit history.
