Top 5 Credit Card Sign Up offers for May – These cards provide the most value out of their welcome bonuses
– RewardsCanada.ca
Here are the Rewards Canada Top 5 Travel Credit Card Sign Up offers for the month of May 2021! This is not a ‘best’ credit card list like our Top Travel Rewards Credit Card rankings but instead a look at cards that have very good acquisition (welcome/sign up) offers. As always when choosing a card you should always take other factors into account other than the just sign up bonus, but when some of these cards are first year free, they can and do pay off even when you grab them strictly for the sign up rewards. This month we see three first year free cards on the list The same five cards are on the list this month as last month as we have no significant changes in the market with welcome bonuses that would affect this list.Editor’s Note:As travel is curtailed right now these offers are more forward looking and can and should be used towards your long term travel plans – whether that’s later this year, next year or even beyond. Getting the cards now allows you to achieve the sign up bonuses as you wish and then continue to spend to build up those points and miles balances to make those future vacations that much better…Aeroplan Everday Status Qualification is officially here – earn status without flying
– RewardsCanada.ca
When the first news of the revamped Aeroplan program came out last August one feature that was being touted was being able to earn elite status from home. Unlike the limited time promotion early on during the pandemic this feature would be a full time everyday benefit of the Aeroplan program. Appropriately named Everyday Status Qualification, that benefit has officially launched now. Everyday Status Qualification provides the opportunity for Aeroplan members to earn elite status without actually flying. Aeroplan points earned on most every day actions will count towards earning Air Canada Elite Status. This includes credit card spending, partner earning (ie hotels, car rentals, Starbucks) and eStore purchases. If a member earns 100,000 Aeroplan points in a calendar year they will earn Aeroplan 25K status. The tracker has been rolled out on the Air Canada website and app and it shows you how you are progressing towards your Everyday Status: Note: If you already hold Air Canada elite status you will not see the tracker in your account…May 6 Update: More Cobalt Card Confirmed 5x, 2x, 1x Multiplier Locations and there’s one new Marriott Hotel opening this year in Kelowna!
