If you provide care for a spouse or common-law partner or a dependent with a physical or mental disability, you may be eligible to claim the Canada Caregiver Credit (CCC) when you file your income tax return. This article will cover everything you need to know about this federal credit, including who can claim, how much you can claim, and what documents you’ll need.
What Is the Canada Caregiver Tax Credit?
Caring for a spouse or eligible dependent with a mental or physical can be challenging in many ways – mentally, physically, and financially. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) recognizes this, so they’re helping caregivers save additional taxes with a non-refundable tax credit, known as the Canada Caregiver Tax Credit.
The Canada Revenue Agency made it easier to qualify for a tax credit by replacing three previous caregiver credits with the Canada Caregiver Credit. The former credits, namely The Caregiver Amount, The Amount for Infirm Dependents (18 years of age & over), and The Family Caregiver Amount, were somewhat confusing with more limitations…

Solo travellers rejoice! After nearly a year and half there is a bonus on the best airline card in the Canadian market and second best overall travel rewards card that doesn’t involve a companion! Just like the Amex cards last week, TD’s Aeroplan co-brand cards have moved to strictly a points only bonus instead of points + bonus buddy pass. Yes, there was a period where you could convert Buddy Passes to points so at that time I’m sure lots of individuals, solo, single travellers grabbed the card then but if you didn’t now’s the time you can do so. I really shouldn’t say this new offer is just for solo travellers – this offer is just as great for couples, families or whomever, it’s just that the old Buddy Pass offer was more conducive for non-solo travellers.  Here are all the TD offers that came out today  TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card Earn up to 50,000 Aeroplan points and no annual fee in the first year†TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card Earn up to 105,000 Aeroplan points†TD® Aeroplan® Visa Platinum* Card Earn up 20,000 Aeroplan points†TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card Earn up to 100,000 TD Points† and first year no annual feeIn this post we’ll cover the new offer on the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card and right now when you apply for the card by September 5 2022  you can receive up to 50,000 Aeroplan points and have the first year annual fee rebated on the primary as well as additional cards!
