ADKAR – A Model for Financial Change Too

I’ve read something to the effect of the following when it comes to change:
Change initiatives wouldn’t be so hard if we didn’t have people involved…
How true.
The ADKAR model is a popular change management framework because the concepts are easy for people to grasp and in doing so provide a good chance the people involved with change can implement it more successfully.
My current organization has gravitated to various change management models over the years but I’m a big fan of ADKAR based on its simplicity and broad application. There is little customization involved whether you are taking about change at the business-level or at the individual-level, these principles will apply. On that note I’d like to share some concepts behind the ADKAR model and how you can consider leveraging it (if you haven’t already done so) for financial change as well.
What’s with the acronym?
ADKAR stands for:

Our Duffy, ourselves
– macleans.ca

The picture is, in its own way, perfect. And not just for the inscription. It is of a moment, of this moment. A book could be written about it. But for now let’s give it the thousand words it deserves.
Exhibit D, as it was officially registered with the Ottawa court by Mike Duffy’s lawyer last week, shows the senator and Prime Minister Stephen Harper together, on stage, at an event in June 2009. Duffy had been appointed six months earlier, one of 18 senators suddenly nominated before Christmas 2008—at a moment when Mr. Harper, as a result of the Governor General’s decision to grant a prorogation, was only barely clinging to power (having incited a Liberal-NDP coalition when he used a moment of economic crisis to propose reducing the financial resources of political parties, a move that would have wounded his rivals far more than his own party).
Duffy and his fellow appointees had apparently all pledged to support the government’s Senate reforms, pledges that now seem adorably quaint, like coming upon a picture of the games children used to play in the Victorian period…

Former chairman of PetroChina’s parent company goes on trial in corruption case
– canadianbusiness.com
BEIJING, China – A Chinese court says a corruption trial has started for the former chairman of the stated-owned parent of PetroChina Ltd., Asia’s biggest oil producer.
Jiang Jiemin was chairman of the state-run China National Petroleum Corp., the target of a sweeping graft investigation amid a larger anti-corruption campaign that has netted top officials and others.
Hanjiang Intermediate People’s Court in Hubei province said on its microblog Monday that Jiang is charged with taking bribes, possessing a large number of assets from unidentified sources and abusing his position at a state-owned enterprise.
A series of senior figures from the state-owned oil industry have been detained in the crackdown led by President Xi Jinping that appears to be aimed at tightening central control over PetroChina and other powerful state companies.
