We haven’t seen AIR MILES bonuses for buying gift cards at Safeway since June but this week the bonuses have returned! These are the same as those seen in June but aren’t as good as the December offer of 70 AIR MILES per $50 card but are better than the 55 miles in November. With this offer you’ll earn 1.2 miles per dollar on these cards or if you work the other way, we value AIR MILES at 11 to 15 cents a piece so you are essentially earning $7.70 to $10.50 with each card. However if you look at our post from a few weeks ago about hacking the Air Miles program you’ll know that you can actually get value of over 30 cents per mile on car rentals which means you can technically earn ~$18 on each these gift cards! You have to print out the coupons and you can find them hereHint: Print multiple copies and go through the till multiple times if you want to buy more than one card for the same retailer! The merchant gift cards included are Spafinder, Bass Pro Shops, Sears, Roots, The Keg, KFC/Pizza Hut/Taco Bell Mark’s, Cactus Club, Golf Town and Boston Pizza…Mortgage after bankruptcy, divorce: You need time

US consumer credit jumps in September, pushing total credit to all-time high of $3.5 trillion
– canadianbusiness.com
WASHINGTON – U.S. consumer borrowing jumped by a record amount in September, driven higher by big gains in borrowing for auto and student loans.
The Federal Reserve said Friday that consumer borrowing increased $28.9 billion, the largest one-month increase on record going back to 1941. It followed a gain of $16 billion in August and pushed total consumer borrowing to an all-time high of $3.5 trillion.
The big September gain reflected a $22.2 billion increase in the category that covers auto loans and student loans and a $6.7 billion increase in credit card borrowing. It was the biggest increase in auto and student loans since July 2011.
Economists believe consumer spending, which accounts for 70 per cent of economic activity, will remain strong in coming months. A healthy labour market is helping give consumers confidence to spend and finance part of their purchases by taking on more debt.
The Labor Department reported earlier Friday that the economy created 271,000 jobs in September, the most this year, pushing the unemployment rate down to a seven-year low of 5 per cent…
