– RewardsCanada.ca
The newest set of Air France KLM’s Promo Awards went live earlier this week with only one Canadian offer versus to four or so we have seen for the past few months. With promo awards the discount ranges from 25 to 50% off the regular amount of miles required to redeem for these flights. As you can see just by the discount this can be a very good offer if you get 50% off for Business Class! As has been the case for probably a year or so for us we don’t get any 50% offers for Canada departures but we do get 25% off which can definitely be utilized by some! While 25% isn’t as good as 50% of course, it still is something to look at if you were planning travel to Europe for February. The offer this month is are:Vancouver to Europe: 25% off Economy Class – Book by Nov 30 for travel Feb 1 – 28, 18Offer Details:November Promo Awards – Save 20% to 50% on the Award Miles usually required for an award ticket. – RewardsCanada.ca
Marriott Rewards has launched a new online shopping portal called Marriott Rewards More. Like many other online shopping portals you can earn points for shopping online with many retailers however what makes Marriott Rewards More different is that they also give you the option to redeem points for shopping with those same online retailers! For a limited time when you make your first purchase of $25 or more you’ll receive 1,000 bonus Marriott Rewards points and if you still hold on to the Chase Marriott Premier Visa card you’ll receive 25% bonus points on purchases made via More with the card! The list of Canadian retailers is relatively small right now but you can also switch to the U.S. offerings for a few more options. Oh and the redemption option is not a very good use of Marriott Rewards points unless you really want to use them for an online purchase but we’d advise against that. – moneysense.ca
TORONTO — The launch of CIBC’s new Simplii Financial direct banking brand on Wednesday has not gone exactly to plan, as some customers are finding glitches with the new offering.
The bank (TSX:CM) has switched over customers from President’s Choice Financial to Simplii after reaching a deal with Loblaw Cos. Ltd. (TSX:L) in August.
The companies decided to end a decades-long partnership and go their separate ways, with Simplii taking the savings, chequing and mortgage accounts and PC Financial keeping its MasterCard credit cards and PC Plus points program.

“There are no innovations. They simplii just changed the app logo and colour. It’s still the worst mobile banking app in Canada,” tweeted Andrew Chisholm…
