The percentage increase was the same rate for all tax filers, while the amount of income tax paid by the top one per cent averaged $151,900, up $3,000 or two per cent from 2012.
The top one per cent earned 10.3 per cent of the total income and paid 20.3 per cent of the federal, provincial and territorial income taxes in 2013, unchanged from 2012.

Britain agrees to return $44M to Macau seized from official in corruption case
– canadianbusiness.com
According to a Macau government statement released Tuesday, British and Macau officials signed an agreement to repatriate the money seized in the Ao Man Long case.
Ao was a transport and public works secretary who was found guilty in three trials of taking bribes and money laundering: in 2008, 2009 and 2012.
He is the highest ranking official to ever be convicted of graft in the former Portuguese colony.
Anti-graft officials said at the time they found Ao had $100 million in assets, or 57 times more than what he and his family could have earned during his time in office.

CBS chief says ad-free version of online CBS All Access for $10 a month ‘very possible’
– canadianbusiness.com
CEO Les Moonves told analysts Tuesday “it’s a very possible thing for the future” to charge $9.99 for an ad-free version of the service. His statement, following the release of the company’s quarterly earnings, came just a day after CBS announced it would run a new “Star Trek” series exclusively on the online platform in 2017.
Moonves said CBS All Access had its largest subscriber growth yet in September, helped by new shows, without specifying further. He called the service “a major priority” as young people’s viewing habits increasingly shift to mobile devices and away from appointment viewing.
