Aeroplan further extends pause on points expiry to May 2023 and save 30 AIR MILES when you redeem for entertainment rewards

Here’s your Rewards Canada update! Your near daily dose of loyalty program, credit card and travel news, bonuses, deals and more. Air Canada Aeroplan has announced one more extension on the pause of the expiry of Aeroplan points. The last extension had the points expiry rule being reinstated as of September 30, 2022 but that has now be moved significantly later to May 31, 2023. “…meaning that between now and May 30, 2023, any Aeroplan points which would have expired will not. Effective May 31, 2023, our normal expiration policy will once again apply meaning points will expire if an eligible transaction has not been completed within the 18 months prior to this date.”Aeroplan point expiry is in fact only an inactivity rule – that is you need to have some sort of activity in your Aeroplan account once every 18 months. That can be earning or redeeming points. Also if you have a Aeroplan co-brand card your points will remain intact. You will want to make sure you have that activity by May 30 because if you don’t you’ll lose those points on May 31, 2023…
