Here is your mid-week update! News, Tips & TricksJust waiting on the third piece of bad news this week as usually they come in threes. The first was the news of Marriott taking over Starwood which really could be good news for some but mainly bad news for SPG members and now the second piece of bad news are the 2016 changes to American AAdvantage. While everyone globally is affected, we here in Canada get hit harder than those living in the 48 continguous states as we are now lumped in with Alaska on their award charts. What this means is that we get the increases that those living in the U.S. do and then some more! Not good news for Canadian AAdvantage members. See here for complete details. There were some questions asked as to whether the current 25% bonus on transfers to Etihad Guest including American Express Canada since Amex Canada was not listed on the Etihad site. We reached out to Etihad and have confirmation from them that Amex Canada is most definitely included and they thanked us for noting that Canada was not on their site…
