July 29 Update: Aeroplan extends generous refund & rebooking policy + Air Canada adds more flights out of Quebec City + MORE Jul 30th

Your daily dose (or near daily dose) of loyalty program, credit card and travel news, bonuses, deals and more.  Air Canada Aeroplan has updated their refund and rebooking policy by extending it to August 31: Aeroplan flight rewards booked through August 31, 2021 can be changed or cancelled free of charge, at any time.  Members can cancel free of charge and receive all of their points back in their account, plus a full refund of any associated taxes, fees and charges on the unused value of travel. For changes, members will pay only the difference in points, or receive a partial refund if their new itinerary requires fewer points. In addition, a difference in taxes, fees and charges may apply when changing an itinerary.As a reminder, members can quickly and easily cancel their Aeroplan flight rewards at aircanada.com.Beginning September 1, 2021, Aeroplan flight rewards are subject to the change and cancellation fee structure of the fare option purchased…

 Back on July 20th we had a post that detailed tourism board offers that provide gift cards and/or discounts for stays at select hotels within those tourism board regions. From Vancouver to Quebec City and several  cities in-between you can receive $75 visa gift cards, $100 visa gift cards and discounts for dining just to name a few. What is good about some of these offers allow you to actually book the stay via the actual hotel chain so you may earn points, receive your elite status benefits and more. It appears Ottawa, Richmond & Vancouver are the cities where you cannot book direct with the hotel chain.While there are lots of hotels available we happened to come across the Quebec City offer during our search for Marriott bonus points offers.
