Looks like one more step has been completed in Air Canada’s steps to purchase Aeroplan from Aimia. Today it was announced that both companies have sign a definitive agreement for Air Canada to purchase the program and that Air Canada looks to close the deal as soon as possible after the approval by Aimia shareholders. It is expected that the deal will close in January of 2019. Air Canada signed deals with TD, CIBC and Visa to be the payment card providers of the new Aeroplan and to a our surprise the airline is apparently is in talks to keep American Express on board as well (that would be awesome!)
