News out of the U.S this morning that Delta SkyMiles has significantly increased redemption requirements for award travel on partner airlines between the U.S. and Europe & Asia. Delta pretty much considers Canada as the same as the U.S. so these new non-published award rates would apply to us Canadians as well. In some ways it almost appears that Delta looked at Aeroplan’s new partner Reward charts coming on November 8 and figured they could raise their amounts as well. For example Delta’s one way partner flights to Europe used to start at 25,000 miles now they look to be 35,000 miles, the latter is the same for Air Canada.
