We’ve received details of Scotiabank credit card offer updates that will launch on July 2. The Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Card and the Scotiabank Momentum Visa Infinite Cards will both see their welcome bonuses lowered so if you have been contemplating getting either of these cards I would recommend applying for them by Monday! The Passport Visa will be 5,000 points lower than the current offer while the Momentum card loses the 10% welcome bonus but retains the first year free offer. Remember we are only a little over a month away from the changes coming as well to the Scotiabank Gold American Express Card (Read about those changes here)WestJet is adding two new sun destination routes for the Winter 2019/20 season. That’s where a secured credit card may come in. It can help to build good credit, even when other lenders have turned you down. It’s a good idea to know the full details of signing up for a secured card, so you get the best deal to help improve your financial situation.
How Does A Secured Card Work?
To get a secured card, you give the cash value of your credit limit to the company. So if your limit is $500, you’ll have to pay $500 before you can begin using the card. This protects the lender in the event of default.
The amount of security you have to provide depends on the card issuer, but many secured credit cards have modest limits of a few hundred dollars and therefore require modest security.
