BlackBerry shares up after company sends invite for potential new launch
– canadianbusiness.com
TORONTO – Shares of BlackBerry (TSX:BB) are climbing higher after the tech company announced plans for an event later this month that could officially unveil the Passport, it’s latest smartphone.
The Waterloo, Ont.-based company’s stock was up nearly four per cent to $11.85 near midday — a rise of 43 cents.
That follows an increase of about three per cent in the trading session on Tuesday, when the company posted the cryptic details of events slated for Sept. 24 in Toronto, London and Dubai.
BlackBerry is widely expected to use the invitation-only events to officially unveil the Passport, a new device that meets somewhere between a smartphone and a tablet in size, and is designed to cater to professionals that need larger screens to view documents or technical schematics.
Chief executive John Chen offered a brief peek of the smartphone after the company’s annual meeting earlier this summer. He said the Passport would be available in some international markets by the end of September…

Top 100 Dividend Stocks – September 2014 Edition – WIN Remains On Top
– IntelligentSpeculator.net
It’s that time of the month again. Things are always slower in the summer in terms of news, dividend increases, etc. There are still some great opportunities out there and I’m always on the lookout for ways to improve my Ultimate Sustainable Dividend portfolio. Why? Because it’s a key part of increasing my monthly passive income (see last update here). There is no “perfect” stock of course. The market is fairly efficient so it’s all about finding high quality stocks that are a good match for my portfolio and provide a good potential/downside risk ratio. Obviously, yield is just one criteria but it’s an important one and for that reason, looking at the top large cap stocks in terms of dividend payout is a great way for me to get started.WIN Takes A (small) Step Back
WIN continues to look very solid although it did take a slight step back in the past few weeks. Take a look at this chart:
