PHILADELPHIA – PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Comcast Corp. (CMCSA) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $2.14 billion.
On a per-share basis, the Philadelphia-based company said it had net income of 84 cents.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 17 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 84 cents per share.
The cable provider posted revenue of $18.74 billion in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Fourteen analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $18.13 billion.
Comcast shares have climbed 11 per cent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed roughly 3 per cent. The stock has increased 22 per cent in the last 12 months.
