Check it out!Hilton HHonors released their hotel category changes for 2014 and the changes are very mild when you compare them to their drastic devaluation last year! A total of 14 hotels are moving down in their redemption category (some even drop 2 categories!) while only 25 are moving up by one or two categories. These hotels account for less than 1% of the Hilton portfolio and none of them are in Canada. The changes take place on April 15 but you can see them all on Hilton’s site here.Alaska Airlines will be raising the amount of miles required for Mileage Plan award flights on Delta Airlines. The new amounts take effect on May 6. The majority of redemption options from domestic to international travel are going up. This is just the latest development in the big fight going on for Seattle between these two airlines…

The Heartbleed Bug: Should Online Banking Customers Worry?
You’ve likely seen the headlines regarding the Heartbleed Bug, an Internet security issue that targets private information shared over the web.
The bug makes vulnerable a version of Open Secure Socket Layer technology, a very common method used by an estimated two thirds of websites to protect users’ personal info such as passwords and transactional data.
How Does Heartbleed Work?
The discovery was made by a team from Internet security company Codenomicon. From their blog:
“The Heartbleed bug allows anyone on the Internet to read the memory of the systems protected by the vulnerable versions of the OpenSSL software. This compromises the secret keys used to identify the service providers and to encrypt the traffic, the names and passwords of the users and the actual content. This allows attackers to eavesdrop on communications, steal data directly from the services and users and to impersonate services and users.”

Which Credit Card Earns the Most Aeroplan Miles?
