Financial Resolutions 2014: 4 New Ways You Should Manage Your Money
While everyone else is making resolutions to eat less and exercise more, why don’t you focus some energy on getting your finances into shape? Here are some financial resolutions 2014 worth sticking to, and tips to how to end the year with more money in the bank than you started with.
Resulotion 1: I’ll Track Spending, Then Set A Budget
The best way to ensure you have more money in the bank at the end of the month is to spend less of it. You should set a budget for yourself and stick to it.
The first step in setting a budget is to track your current spending. Pull out a few months’ worth of recent bank statements, credit card bills, and your utility bills to start with.

•Clothing
•Books and magazines

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Target Corp. said Monday that the Department of Justice is investigating the credit and debit card security breach at the retailer.
The investigation comes after Target revealed last week that data connected to about 40 million credit and debit card accounts were stolen between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15. That affected at least 45.7 million card users.
The Department of Justice declined to comment on whether it’s investigating the breach at Target, the nation’s second-largest discounter. But Target said that it’s co-operating with the DOJ’s probe.
The news came as Target also said that it is working with the U.S. Secret Service in the retailer’s own investigation and that its general counsel held a conference call on Monday with state attorneys general to bring them up to date on the breach…

Target steps up breach investigation with Justice
NEW YORK (AP) — Target Corp. said the Department of Justice is investigating the security breach at the retailer that’s being called the second largest such incident in U.S. history.

Target also said that it’s teaming up with the U.S. Secret Service in its own investigation. Target said the Secret Service has asked the company not to share many of the details of the probe.
Target said earlier this week that data connected to about 40 million credit and debit card accounts was stolen in a period that began over the Thanksgiving weekend.
